Terms of Use
The short version: this is a free, independent comparison calculator that produces estimates from your inputs and dated government data. It is general information, not advice, and you should always confirm current rates with the retailer before switching.

1. About these terms
Compare My Power (comparemypower.com.au) is operated by O'Connor Digital Marketing, based in Queensland, Australia. By using this website you agree to these terms. If you don't agree with them, please don't use the site.
2. General information only, not advice
Everything on this site is general information. It is not financial advice, energy advice, or a recommendation to choose any particular retailer or plan. The calculator doesn't know your circumstances, your meter setup, your eligibility for particular offers, or anything else about you. Before making decisions about your electricity plan, consider your own situation and confirm the details directly with the retailer.
Compare My Power is not an energy broker, a licensed adviser or a switching service. We don't arrange connections or switches; we just do the maths.
3. Independence
We have no affiliation with any electricity retailer. No retailer pays us, we earn no commission if you switch, and we don't sell leads or pass your details to anyone. The site is free to use and supported only by optional Buy Me a Coffee donations.
4. About the data and estimates
The calculator produces estimates. They are only as good as the numbers that go in, and the imported data has real limits:
- Imported rates are GST-inclusive reference rates from a dated snapshot of the Australian Energy Regulator's Product Reference Data (the dataset behind Energy Made Easy), not live prices. The snapshot date is shown under the comparison table.
- Only generally available flat-rate plans are included. Plans requiring existing solar, a battery, a smart meter, a seniors card or a membership are excluded, as are broker-only plans and variable-price plans with estimated rates.
- Reference rates don't include conditional discounts, sign-up credits or time-limited offers, so a retailer's website may show different prices.
- Solar feed-in tariffs, demand tariffs and time-of-use tariffs are not modelled. If a plan has no controlled load rate, your controlled load usage is costed at that plan's general rate, which is noted in the app.
- Prices change. Rates may have changed since the snapshot, and your actual bill will differ from any estimate here.
Always confirm the current rates, fees and conditions with the retailer before switching. Energy Made Easy (energymadeeasy.gov.au) is the government's official comparison service.
5. Your entries
The results depend on what you type in. Double-check your usage figures and rates against a recent bill; a mistyped rate produces a confidently wrong answer.
6. Availability
The site is provided free and as-is. We aim to keep it accurate and online, but we don't guarantee it will be uninterrupted, error-free or always up to date, and we may change, suspend or discontinue any part of it at any time.
7. Liability
Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies any consumer guarantee or other right you have under the Australian Consumer Law or any other law that can't be excluded by agreement.
Subject to that, and to the maximum extent permitted by law, we accept no liability for any loss or damage arising from your use of this site or from decisions made in reliance on its estimates or information, including choosing, switching or staying with an electricity plan or retailer.
8. Intellectual property and attribution
The site's design, code and original content belong to O'Connor Digital Marketing. Plan data is derived from the Australian Energy Regulator's Product Reference Data. The Australia map is based on "Australia map, States" by Lokal_Profil, used under CC BY-SA 3.0.
9. Links to other websites
Imported plans link to retailer websites, and the footer links to third-party services. Those sites are outside our control and we're not responsible for their content, accuracy or practices.
10. Privacy
How we handle information is covered in our Privacy Policy. The short version: your calculator entries stay in your browser and our analytics are anonymous.
11. Governing law and changes
These terms are governed by the laws of Queensland, Australia. We may update them from time to time; the "Last updated" date above will change when we do, and continued use of the site means you accept the updated terms.
